Found in the desert of New Mexico, this ground-up modern house uses rammed-earth construction to reconnect the architecture back to the land. The public living space and the private bedroom wing are joined via an indoor- outdoor courtyard. The horizontal nature of the house aims to emphasize the striking surrounding mesa. Floor to ceiling glass allows for unobstructed views, while a large overhang reduces solar gain.
